Colds, Coughs and Chest Congestion

For chest colds, fry a possum. Take the grease and cover the entire chest with it.

Leeks/Ramps

eat the leaves for colds and cough
*warm the juice from the leaves and bulbs and use for earaches

Poulticed root is good for rheumatism
*root tea good for coughs and asthma
*dry the plant and pound it into a powder, make a tea for this for headaches

1 Ounce Fresh Red Clover Blossoms

1 Pint boiling water

1 cup honey

Boil blossoms in water and strain. Add honey. Bottle mixture up and store. Give 1 teaspoon twice a day for cough.

Onion

Onions are one of the best things one could eat! They are good for your heart, blood, increase your HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol), thins blood, stops blood clotting, decreases cholesterol, regulates blood sugar, kills bacteria, relieves congestion, blocks cancer, decreases blood pressure, decreases fever and helps with coughs.

1/2 RAW onion a day is good for cholesterol.

1 Tablespoon of cooked onions reverses blood clotting.

Beans

Beans are good for numerous things. They can lower cholesterol, inhibit cancer, control blood sugar, decrease blood pressure, regulate the colon, prevent and aid constipation, depression. It is best to eat one cup of dried beans a dy. Boil beans with garlic for help with coughs. Diabetics should avoid canned beans as they are often high in sugar content.
