Hairballs

A little olive oil will help reduce hairballs in cats. Add a bit to their food, it is healthy for them and will lubricate the hair in the cat’s stomach so it will pass easier through the digestive system.

Eczema

Eczema can be relieved if you take a small bottle of olive oil and chop into it a nice large piece of chickweed. Cap it tightly and use this whenever a flare-up of eczema occurs. Garlic cloves in olive oil (with or without the chickweed) works well also.

Pimples

Oil of marigolds is healing to the face and helps cure pimples. Prepare by adding 1 cup of marigold flowers to 1 quart of olive oil. Set all day on a warm part of the stove or in direct sunlight. DO NOT BOIL! Strain and use on face.

Arthritis

A good liniment for aching joints is made of 2 egg whites, 1/2 cup turpentine, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup olive oil

Sore muscles

Sore muscles can be comforted by rubbing with olive oil into which ginger root has been chopped. This is also good to apply to bruises to promote healing.

Ear (Pain)

Warm olive oil and add a few drops to the ear. This will soothe and comfort the pain in an ear.

Eyes (lines and wrinkles)

To prevent lines and wrinkles around the eyes apply castor oil and olive oil around the eyes each night
